The Municipality of Vlore

Vlore

This municipality consists of five administrative units: Vlora, Orikum, Vlora, Novosela and Shushicë, and is part of the Vlora district. The municipality has under its administration two cities (Vlora and Orikum) and 37 villages. The Municipality of Vlora is situated in the western part of Albania in an area of 614.85 km2. It is bordered to the north by Fier Municipality, east by Selenica Municipality and south Himara Municipality. Vlora is crossed by the national road Levan-Himara and has a port: Vlora Port. This municipality includes the entire coastal area from the Vjosa River to the Llogara mountain shoulder. It also includes the Karaburun Peninsula and Sazani Island. The bay of Vlora is distinguished for its many natural resources, rich biodiversity and ecological corridors. It is among the areas with the highest tourist potential in the country, which is related to direct sea exit, many natural, climatic, aquatic, archaeological, historical, cultural, human and economic resources. In the Municipality of Vlora there are two national park of second category: "Karaburun-Sazan", and the Llogara National Park. Besides tourism, an important part of Vlora Municipality's economic act
