Permet

The municipality of Përmet is situated in the southeastern part of Albania, on an area of 601.95 km2. The municipality is part of Gjirokastra District and consists of 5 administrative units: Përmet, Çarçovë, Frashër, Petran and Centar Piskovo. The new municipality has under its administration one city (Përmet) and 49 villages. According to the civil registry for 2016, Përmet Municipality has a population of 19,872 inhabitants. The economy is mostly focused on tourism, including the balear one and related services. The municipality of Përmet has several rare natural and historical values like: Hotova National Park, curative baths in Bënjë, canyons of Bënja and Lengarica, the house of Frashëri brothers, Churches of Leusa, Kosina, Bualit and Bënja and there are also some typical bridges dated in the XVIII C. as as the bridge of Kati or Bënja.
