The Municipality of Kucove

Kucove

The Municipality of Kuçovë is part of Berat district and lies in the eastern part of the Western Lowlands, bordered in the north and northwest from the Sulova area and the Devoll River, and in the south and southwest of the lower stream of the Osumi River. From the administrative point of view, Kuçova is bordered by the municipalities of Lushnje, Belsh, Cërrik, Gramsh, Berat and Ura Vajgurore and has an area of 160.22 km2. After the Territorial and Administrative Reform the new Municipality of Kuçova consists of 4 administrative units, which are: Kuçova, Kozar, Perondi and Lumas. According to the 2011 Census, this municipality counts 31,262 inhabitants, while according to the Civil Registry it counts a population of 55,293 inhabitants. All administrative units are currently part of Berat district. The new municipality has under its administration a city and 31 villages. This municipality has a city and 31 villages.
