The Municipality of Divjaka

Divjaka

Divjakë Municipality is located in the center of Albania and includes an area of 309.58 km2. This municipality is compound of five administrative units: Divjakë, Tërbuf, Grabjan, Gradishtë and Remas and has under its administration one city of Divjakë and 39 villages, which are part of the district of Lushnja and the county of Fier. According to the civil registry 2016, the Municipality of Divjakë counts a population of 54,368 inhabitants. The main economic activity is agriculture, as a result of the fertile land. Furthermore, lately were developed few fishing activities in the Karavasta lagoon, though to a lesser extent. Thanks to this lagoon, there it was also developed the bird watching tourism due to the presence of a small colony of rare Pelicans. Divjaka Municipality has had good opportunities so far for the development of ecotourism and marine tourism.
