The Municipality of Berat

Berat

The new Municipality of Berat is among the Municipalities that were reformed after the Administrative-Territorial Reform of 2015. The Municipality consists of five administrative units: Berat, Velabisht, Otllak, Sinjë and Roshnik. Berat is known as the center of the municipality. The municipality of Berat is bordered in the north with the municipalities of Kuçovë and Ura Vajgurore, east with the municipalities of Gramsh and Skrapar, south with the municipality of Poliçan, and in the west with the municipality of Mallakastra. The new municipality has an area of 379.98 km2. The municipality has under its administration 50 villages, where Sinji has the largest number of villages. According to the Census of 2011, the municipality has 60,031 inhabitants, while according to the Civil Status 2016 the municipality has a population of 98,875.
