The Municipality of Belsh

Belsh

Belshi Municipality is bordered in the north with the municipality of Peqin, east with the municipality of Cërrik, in the south with the municipality of Kuçova, and in the west with the municipality of Lushnje. The center of the municipality is the city of Belshi. It lies on the hilly plateau of Dumre, on a surface of 196.44 km2; it has 85 karstic lakes, which give the area a picturesque character. Following the Administrative Territorial Reform Belsh Municipality has 5 administrative units: Belsh Kajan, Grekan, Fierzë and Rrasë. Belsh Municipality has a population of 32,639 inhabitants according to the Civil Registry and 19,503 inhabitants, according to INSTAT, Census 2011. This municipality has under its administration 1 city and 34 villages.
