Klos
Klos Municipality is bordered by Mat Municipality to the north, Kruja Municipality to the west, Tirana Municipality to the south-west and Bulqiza Municipality to the south-east. Klosi town is the seat of this municipality. This municipality consists of 4 administrative units, namely: Klos, Xibër, Suç, Gurrë. The new municipality administers a town and 30 villages. The largest surface area of Klos Municipality is flat terrain, where Mat Valley and pastures varying from 240 to 600 meters above sea are found. Klos remains a connection point between Dibra and Tirana. Population movements towards urban areas, typical of Dibra region, are also noticed in Klos. These movements reflected a tendency to settle in urban centre of Burrel and to metropoles of Tirana and Durrës. The phenomenon of emigration is evident, especially among youth and men and the main basis of income for the familiesareremittances. The countries where emigration has been directed to are mostly Greece, Italy and England, whose status there is as both legal and illegal emigrants. The main economic sectors are agriculture; the favourable climate facilitates cultivation of all plants and fruit trees, farming and service provision. Klos is rich in numerous natural, ground and underground resources. Public forests and pastures occupy a considerable part of the surface area, where, apart from wood, there are medical plants, as well. Other main sources of income for the inhabitants in the region are mountain and historical tourism, as well as chromium industry in the private mines of Cëruja. Among the investments made for the completion of large projects in the area, are: Adjustment-pavement of the town’s boulevard, rural road connecting Fullqet village with the seat of the municipality, as well as adjustment-pavement of roads connecting Fullqet, Cëruja, Benja, Lis, Gurra and Kurbani villages with the National Road. Another investment on significant projects is also the construction of a water pipeline at the Bershi and Cëruja villages.
