The Municipality of Cerrik

Cerrik

The new municipality of Cërrik lies generally in a flat and hilly area between the two rivers, Shkumbin and Devoll and has as center the city of Cërrik. The municipality is bordered in the north with Elbasan and Peqin municipalities, in the south-east with the municipality of Gramsh, in the south with the municipality of Kuçovë and in the west by the municipality of Belsh. After the territorial reform the municipality of Cërrik consists of 5 administrative units, which are: Cërrik, Gostimë, Mollas, Shala and Klos. According to the 2011 Census, this municipality counts 27.445 inhabitants with a density of 144.71 inhabitants/km², and according to the Civil Registry this municipality counts a population of 46.652 people, with a density of 189.65 inhabitants/km². The new municipality has an area of 189.65 km2.
