The Municipality of Finiq

Finiq

The Municipality of Finiq lies in the south-eastern part of Albania, in the agricultural and mountainous area of Vurgut Crest and has a surface area of 441 km2. The new Municipality of Finiq consists of five administrative units: Finiq, Mesopotam, Livadhja, Aliko and Dhivër. According to the civil registry in 2016, this municipality has a population of 35,518 inhabitants. However, since a considerable percentage of them belongs to the Greek minority, many have migrated to Greece. Finiq Municipality's economy is largely based on agriculture but still has few investments in industry and services. Agricultural is mostly developed in Livadhja and Dhivër, while the industry and services are mostly located in Aliko, Finiq and Mesopotam.
